Variations On a Somewhere (for Piano and Clarinet) is a conversation about the possibility of a better, alternate reality -- a somewhere, a someday, a something else. Using musical themes and references to a long list of showtunes, (e.g. West Side Story, South Pacific, Hamilton, The Music Man, RENT, etc.) it's a messy attempt to capture the doubt, hope and frustration we all feel when trying to imagine a better future.
